Make It On My Own
(1 Peter 5:6-7)
Mark David Williams, Matthew S. Garinger
I close my eyes and you're not there
You cannot hear my silent prayer to God
But I know He hears
Frozen on this stage I stand
Reaching for His loving hand to calm
All my deepest fears
Sometimes I know my pride allows me to be glorified
And it leads this heart astray until I humbly learn to say
CHORUS: I know I can't make it on my own
I know I cannot live this life without the love of Jesus
I know I can't face this world alone
For my heart has seen what all the years have shown
I know I can't make it on my own
What these lights cannot reveal
And what in me remains concealed from view
I have often failed
Making use of man's applause
Has lifted me beyond the cause of Christ
Where I can't feel the nails
But there is peace when I'm not found standing on my
glory looking down
But in the shadow of His will moving only when I'm still - CHORUS
My heart with His strength, my soul not to blame
My voice with His praise leaves this life unashamed - CHORUS
